Grid (sub-speciality) Training

By Dr Simon Li
Training Programme Director ST1-3 (North)
Upon completion of core (ST1-4) training trainees have the opportunity to enter sub-specialty training in a variety of disciplines. Many specialities can be undertaken within the East Midlands Deanery with those not offered requiring a trainee to move region. Entry into grid training is a competitive process by application form and interview. Those who do not wish to undertake grid training, or those who are unsuccessful, default to the General Paediatric sub-specialty training.
