Geographic Areas

The East Midlands Deanery operates two distinct carousels: the North of the region is centred around Nottingham for tertiary level care with smaller district general hospitals in the surrounding areas of Burton-Upon-Trent, Chesterfield, Derby, Lincoln and Mansfield. In the South, tertiary care is offered in Leicester with the district general hospitals in Boston, Kettering, Northampton and Peterbrough. 

North Carousel
Nottingham

To the North of the region is the main tertiary centre of Queen's Medical Centre where Nottingham Children's Hospital is found. There are several surrounding district general hospital's of Royal Derby Hospital, King's Mill Hospital in Mansfield, Chesterfield Royal Hospital, Lincoln County Hospital and Queen's Hospital Burton. Nottingham has a vibrant arts and retail centre whilst Derby is at the gateway of the Peak District National Park.

South Carousel
Leicester

To the South of the region is the main tertiary centre of Leicester Royal Infirmary. Again several smaller district general hospital's feed out providing secondary care at Northampton General Hospital, Pilgrim Hospital in Boston, Kettering General Hospital and Peterborough City Hospital. Leicester is one of the most multi-cultural cities whilst Northampton is just an hour away from the capital city. There are several good sized market towns and countryside that rivals any others around the UK.
